The western saddle that I ACCIDENTLY bid on on ebay has arrived.
It stated on the write up that it was synthetic but it actually has suede on the seat and leather for the most part and the only synthetic part is the "skirt" (I think thats what it is called where it is under the saddle) and the underside is sheepskin. Gorgeous.
Can anyone tell me......The size stated was full size. Does that mean it will only fit a 16.2 or will it fit a smaller horse?
It also has both the cinches. Really impressed with it.

I know nothing about western saddles but well done, it sounds as though you landed on your feet with this one! A happy accidental purchase after all. :D

Thanks Peanut.
It really was an accidental purchase.
Got it very cheap, I have seen the same if not of the same quality going for £100+ locally. So if it doesn't fit I shall sell it and not (hopefully) lose any money on it. Fantastic saddle though. Haven't sat on it or put it on the horse yet as I have to wait for my husband to come home on Friday as it is for him (honest).

normally you would get the size of the bars (full QH, semi, etc etc) and the seat size in inches. Seat size in inches is measured at different points to english saddles so you won't take the same seat size in both !
Have you got any piccies, or the original info from the ad or something ?

My guess is that they are probably talking about full quarter horse bars. Western saddles in the US are usually described as having Semi Quarter Horse bars which are narrower, Quarter Horse bars, or Full Quarter Horse bars which are wider. The size of the bars determines how wide the tree is, so a saddle with Full Quarter Horsebars would fit a wider horse than Quarter Horse bars.

You are Bidding on a Black and Tan Western saddle. The saddle Is new and has been tried on the horse once but was found to be the wrong size, after alot of time wasting buyers i have listed the item on Ebay. The Western has a 16" seat and is part leather and part synthetic which makes it light-weight and light maintanence when it comes to cleaning. (The Western also comes with a cinch).

This is the write up on the ebay description but I can't get a copy of the pic. Does anyone know how to do this?
