hi,
I'm looking for a 16hh + horse for loan. It must be a competant jumper as i would like to compete in new comers and fox-hunter. I'm a 17 year old female with 12 years riding experience. I am studying towards gaining a degree in Equine management.
If anyone knows of anything that maybe useful please contact me. I also have a 14.2 morgan mare for sale, she is a good jumper and would be able to compete in affiliated competitions, although i haven't had the time to recognise her full potential. As i am now out of juniors she is to small for me, and sadly i am forced to sell her. If you would like more information please contact me.
Thanks alot

Casper, is there no-one at your stables that could look after him for a year? This is the best solution - find someone you know to loan him at your yard. That way, your friends can keep an eye on him and give you regular reports as to his well being etc.

Alternatively you could advertise in horse mags, on web sites etc, but make sure you draw up a legal loan agreement with whoever takes him on - even if it is a friend. That way there can be no arguments.

Personally, I couldn't put a horse on loan - I've seen too many horses come back in poor condition. That doesn't mean to say that other loan agreements don't work out fine - I don't want to put you off.

Are you going away to college, or staying at home? A friend of mine went away to college and took her horse with her.

bringing him with me to college sounds like the perfect solution but it's not really catered for in Dublin. I'm new at my stables (16 weeks tomorrow) and i was actually going to ask tomorrow (i'll write and tell you how i got on )
what type of legal agreement??
unfortunetly my friends aren't into horses:confused:

Piaffe, where did you get your name??

Hi Piaffe,
I am in worcester, the midlands. I want around £2500 including tack and rugs but i am open to offers. Are you interested?

Hi Blueeyes,

I would have been if you'd have been a bit nearer to me! I'm in Surrey!!

Casper, Piaffe is a dressage movement! I've not perfected it yet myself - just liked the name!!

Still trying to persuade my horse to perform this for me!

I think the BHS have a loan agreement on their web site - www.bhs.org.uk. Have a search - there may also be some info about loaning.

Be very careful if you take this option. Make sure everything is covered to protect yourself and your horse.
