Hey,
My pony and I are in this show in a few weeks ~
working-hunter. I will most probably
have to gallop a stretch of about 100 metres.
We gallop regularly and I'm comfortable doing it. I usually stand in the stirrips like a jockey while galloping but I'm not sure if I should do this while competing.
Could any-body please give me some advice on the position I should take while
galloping in the ring???

:) :D ~*Efa*~ :D :)

For your gallop in WH classes you are expected to sit up and look as if it is comfortable! It's realy more of an extended canter than a real gallop.

In Canada, we sometimes have to do a hand-gallop in hunter under saddle classes. We are required to go into a 2-point or forward seat position.
