How can I get pms out of my mailbox so I can save them without cluttering it up? I made a new folder to put them in, but the system still counts them, and I can't work out how to export them ...

Many thanks.

Under the list of PMs in your inbox, it says in blue type:

Download all private messages as
XML/CSV/Text

I just click on text, and a save box appears like in MS Word. I accept the title it offers and save them to my computer, usually onto the desktop because I'm too lazy to make a folder for them elsewhere

That should save all of them, not just the ones in the folder you were viewing, and you can then delete every message, leaving lots of room for more PMs to fill it back up :D

A bit more to it than that?
You have to select the incoming messages first, either by putting a cross in the little box at top right, or by each indivdual message.
Then you have a choice at the bottom with what to do with the selected messages. And one of the option is to down load the file.
And after downloading (I think) you have to do it again with the outgoing messages.
The downloaded files are nicely dated so you dont need to re-name them. And you can open them in Word.
Before downloading, I think it is worth creating a folder to store NR PMs.
Our PC has always been highly organised. So under my name there is a folder for Riding and inside that Riding folder are other ones like "lessons" for my lesson notes, "NR advice" and "NR PMs".

You don't need to select any messages first - just click on the text button and it automatically saves every message in every folder :)

Thanks for posting this everyone, I'd never noticed those options before. In case anyone else is thinking of trying it -- if you download all the messages in a "oner" they all go into a single file. If you download them individually, they go into separate files. In ether case the filename is based on the date of download, not the date of the message.

Off to clear out my inbox now!

Thank you Est and Skib - that's wonderful, worked like a dream.

You share a computer, Skib? That would never work in our house! Although the children each have a folder for their own stuff that they use when they're at home ....
I'm not as well organised as you; I just have a folder called Horses, and everything horsey goes in there....:p
