A bit of a moan here -
cvb has urged me for years to watch a Christopher Bartle demo and now he is coming to Surrey - Merrist Wood on 2 November. No other date near London.
And that is the night Maxwell is doing his London area demo at Patchetts for which I already booked.
Anyone care to describe the likely differences between these two?

i've been to a Bartle demo and can thouroughly recommend it, it was dressage based and he gave detailed explanations of the aids as he was riding the movement. He demonstrated passage (among lots of other things) which sticks in my memory as it was stunning to see it in the flesh.
Never been to a Maxwell demo but would love to, I would imagine it would be more concerned with young and problem horses as that is the area he is known in.
what a fantastic choice to have!

oh boy - thats a toughie !
I'm just about to post some notes from the RM demo in Scotland.
OK - I think Chris B would be good for anyone who rides and is allowed to try things out on their horses, regardless of whether they own and train their own horse or not.
Richard Maxwell is more about how the little things add up to become performance issues, so is probably more useful for people for handle horses and have some choices in *how* they handle them.
For example, the first horse at our demo lacked impulsion and was lethargic. The work programme was about improving his reactions and submissiveness, but not immediately from the saddle.
So I think if you are limited to *riding*, CBs tips will be more immediately applicable. IMHO
But both will be good to see. RM has a DVD due out which will cover both previous and latest book.
