Why does he do this...?

When I hand feed Willie grass he makes bowing,snorting sound through his nose and passes gas:o at the same time. He does it the whole time! :confused: I have never had a horse do this before. Is this 'normal'?

When you say, hand-feed, is this different grass to what he usually grazes? Could it smell different, hence the snorting / sniffing (and the wind just a consequence of the effort?)? I assume he does accept, chew & swallow it.

Wonder if he's just pleased - Storm does little snorts of pleasure (doesn't usually trump at the same time tho!!!) when she's expecting her tea.......!!!

Aww, yes. He normally doesn't get much grass, but I do hand walk him to freely graze two hours a day.
