I've personally never heard of it happening! Maybe you should give the vet a quick ring or something to check?

How old is Maddison? (sorry if I've missed that in other threads). That may have a bearing on whether it's "expected" or not. Has he had tooth probs before?
I think my immediate concerns would be - is he bleeding from the site where it was; but that would probably be obvious (plus a bit late to worry about now). Is the entire tooth, root and all there - or could there be any sharp bits sticking out still? Is there any sign of trauma to the soft tissues nearby (maybe look inside his lip / cheek for bruising) - could he have suffered an impact that knocked the tooth?
Does he let you peer in his mouth? - can you see which one it is? / where it's from?
I think I would get a vet out tomorrow to examine properly; with those ratchet-ty things they use.

Maddison is 9. I have had no problems with her teeth at all in the past. There is no bleeding from the site that I could see and she seems quite happy in herself!

Ooops sorrry - got her gender wrong!
Glad to hear she's happy in herself. Doubt if there's much else can be done, except monitoring her eating, and seeing how she is with a bit in next time.
Hope it all works out okay!

thank you becs. It would take more than a lost tooth to put her off her food  She still managed to munch away quite happily on her apple! Thanks for the advice. I will contact my vet in the morning.

Hi,
Maddison sounds a little old to be shedding baby teeth now. Unless maybe, she's not as old as you think:confused: . How long have you had her? Have you had her age assessed by a proffesional?
My boy lost a molar before he was 3, and I'm sure there will be more, but don't think they should be still shedding at 9.
Here is a really good website to look at

I would maybe get a dentist out rather than a vet. A lot cheaper!
Strange, let us know how you get on x
