Ok, So spang has an extremely wayward mane, basically she can end up looking like Tina Turner and regularly does. Plaiting it up helps for a few days after they are taken out, then it just goes back to its usual sticky-up state. I've used all sorts of mane training products too!

So I was looking at the new Shires lycra stretch hood - this one doesn't go over the face though with the eye holes, it just has ear holes so is totally open face. It has a surcingle to keep it secure around the girth area.

BUT, the Shires book says it can be used in stable or field....question is, would you leave one on your horse overnight in the stable? Or is there some obvious reason why you shouldn't??

I have hoods and always leave them on over night.
I have them for a show to keep the platts in etc thats the lycra one, the fleece one for when he is clipped out.

I know loads of people who leave them on overnight, can't see why you wouldn't :D
I am definatly interested in the neck cover without the face, mine have long manes and tend to end up with dreadlocks when the weather gets damp but their manes pop out from under their turnout neck covers, a lycra cover might just keep theirs under control :D

yes, if it's got no chance of getting over the eyes, perfectly safe. have you got a link? i'd also be interested in it.

For some reason, I've been having trouble putting links in but I'll have a go!
