This Saturday I spent time at the farm with my boy. My husband came with me to take pictures, since I have not had any good pictures taken of me and my boy recently. Anne was there and we also worked with the weanlings a little bit with halter breaking. That was loads of fun, especially when the foals started to respond in a soft and willing way.
I have made up my mind about two things. First, I am so sick of the rubber riding boots. They were too tall for my short legs so I cut them down, a little too much, and I have no flex in my ankle to drop my heel or absorb my weight down in my legs. I am saving for a pair of custom riding boots from Argentina Polo Store. They are $280 USD plus shipping and take 5 weeks to make and deliver. It will be 3-4 more months before I order. I need to save and my hubby and I are also doing a fitness program, so I want to wait to order them until I loose some pounds.
Secondly, it is high time for a nice pair of breeches for any showing I do, and a nice pair of schooling pants to school in. The breeches I have are not form fitting at all and hurt my ankle stuffed into my boot and they are loose fitting in my legs and thighs. So those will get ordered within the next 1-2 months.
There is a show in January that I am planning to ride in. I plan to ride one of Anne's horses named Daisy in western classes, she is super good at them, and then hopefully ride my boy Dutch in some english classes! I will probably also have Red with me (the quarter horse I've shown before and ridden for lessons) for some other english classes.
Dutch and I had a good workout in the arena. Here are some pictures like promised, and I even figured out how to get them big in the post!!
Don't mind my fat butt and belly, working on getting rid of that, and don't mind my leg position in relation to the saddle, cause it is a close contact saddle and I am riding with dressage length stirrups. The saddle may get sold eventually for a all-purpose saddle with not such a forward flap. I have not yet started jumping again, and I thought I'd get right back into it when I bought my saddle, that is why I bought the close contact saddle in the first place.
Anyway, without further comments from me the peanut gallery.... here are the photos :)

At the canter again. Hubby was sitting down in the middle of the arena so when I was passing by him he took this picture looking up at me.
