Firstly Captain Underpants would not stand still whilst tied. I am desperately trying to get his legs clipped before the bad weather. We just ended up arguing over who was standing where and I kept following him with the extension lead, clippers, brush and oil. So I gave up and tacked him up. Took him into the school and lots of circles, serpentines and practising my downward transistion. Then I had a go at leg yielding. Not sure if he did what he was supposed to do but it felt right and he went over to the track really well. Practised it again to see if it was a flook and he did it again. :D Then I got overly confident and took him out on the bank for a quick gallop. My donkey went from stand to gallop in 3 secs flat. I tried to steady him up before the low flying branch. WHACK went the branch on my hat as Captain ducked to miss it. Then we ran out of bank and I thought he may be better to slow down. By this time I was desperately trying not to grip with my knees and practise my downward transition. No brakes......... he did decide to stop eventually. **PHEW**

Then my OH walked out of his job today. So I have bills to pay and liveries for 2 horses and all on low part time wage...:(

It's complicated. It always is with my OH. He spat his dummy right out of his pram today.

I feel I am jinxed. This happens everytime I book a RI for lessons. Now I cant book any more lessons. Just when I am starting to actually learn to ride properly..:(

Bobbin - Do you have room for 2 ponies, 2 kids, 3 dogs, 3 cats and the OH if I decide to bring him?

Your not jinxed. Just having a string of bad luck.:o Things will get better.
Put your O.H. on Captain and have him gallop under the tree...That should make you feel better:D

Oh no Nic, what a bu*ger of a day! Crap comes in batches doesn't it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/lynda788/SMILIES/sad-smiley-003.gif

I'm so glad you stayed on Captain when that branch hit your hat; could have been really nasty - what a cool rider

Sorry to hear about your OH walking out of his job too. If he had a valid reason (or even if you don't think it's valid but he does) best to get advice from ACAS or the Union if he's a member in the first instance. If not I'd send him straight back

I hope it all knits back together quickly for you hun :p

It is those bloomin winter blues already. As JG say, NN - hopefully just a run of negativity that happens to us all periodically.

Hopefully the rainy cloud will shift soon.

Gosh OH must have had a right paddy to dump his job with all the commitments he has. So sorry to hear all this hun.http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f270/Whatanejit/Smilies/alright.gif

And as for Mr. Underpants! Whats his game.

Could be feeling fresh with the temperature too - he obviously wanted to go the little monkey.

Thank goodness your seat has improved.

I know it is a cliche but he isn't hurting anywhere is he? Teeth, back?

That was like reading about my life

However, you will manage somehow - speaking from experience that is. My OH is only just starting to grow up now.

It's usually me that loses their rag, shouts, swears and walks out of a job. Although, I must admit, since having Falcon, I've been very good.

Hi Nic, Really, Really think its time to change your user name, Novice is not a word that applies to you recently.:D

My OH did exactly the same thing when Chloe was 6 weeks old and I was at home full time:eek: , He had another job within a week and was much happier for it, so fingers crossed;)

Hows the new pony?

Farrier, Teeth and back are due but I may as well get them both looked at together. Just waiting to hear about some job news and then as soon as the first wage is in the peeps will be booked for the horses. I think I will have to have Captain's wolf teeth taken out. I have tried to leave them as he has had them for 10 yrs but he just grabs the bit and goes leaning angainst his wolf teeth.

cloang - Jasmyn's pony is going ever so well. Jas has been going off lead rein and telling me off for getting in the way. So I am now watching from the middle. :D She had a small hack at the weekend and did very well practising her halt, walk transistions. Jas is pleasantly surprised that Bella has brakes and doesnt drag her to the nearest patch of lush grass. :D I am hoping that if Captain behaves himself I will be able to lead her from him. I know she does it and I know he does but I dont know whether to trust him, current behaviour pending...

ooohhh yes NN come down to somerset with us :) we'll take the animals and loan the hubby

aw dont be in dispair, you were my inspiration on sunday without even knowing it :) hacking alone, got to top of the hills and the wind started howling (drums hates the wind) his head went up his bum came under and he started snortling the whole way down the hill, its was like sitting on a power house, one of those 5 long minutes where you know if a leaf fell out of the tree and landed on the horses bum...you were off big time  i walked down the hill smoothing my pony say 'god dam you NN, where are you better be listening' LOL :D ;)

Soo sorry DD i didnt hear your cries for my attention. **slaps wrists and remembers to think of DD sat on a time bomb** :p I think its the weather at the moment. I have to admit I seriously need to get my chap out more but am a bit wary of the time bomb ticking away... And the fact that he is muscling up nicely with all this collected work I am doing. ;)

I was thinking of you on Saturday when I was having a lesson trying to keep Captain collected whilst jumping and not letting him run away with me...lol

ha i had a lesson on saturday doing exactly the same thing, drummer was great and never ran away or got strong once although we had all the contingency plans in place in case he did :)

mmm not pleasant when they feel like a 'power house' as i call it - still thats the first time i'd really experienced it on drummer, i know he hates the wind alone, if i had known it was going to be howling up the top i would not have gone  it was ok, i just would have felt easier if i'd had some company - so i started talking to you NN instead  :)

think of my sunday, 10 mile fun ride, XC and just me and a 14 yr old girl going from the yard - i have no MOM  :)

ps drummer's muscles are looking pretty dandy as well
