I suppose question in the title.
After reading Vix3n's thread regarding rhythm beads and others mentioning they make their own, thinking of making a set for my horsey. There is a nice bead shop where I live so would pop down and buy what I need.
Therefore I was curious if there were any 'patterns' or websites that have advice on making them?
Also when making you own, how do you secure them to the horse for safety and to stop them dropping off? Knowing my luck I'd go out for a hack and they'd drop off!!
Thanks!:D

I don't have any advice on how to make them, but I bought a set for Cisco and they have an alligator clip that I clip to the mane or front of the saddle blanket.

Yep, most clip on with an aligator clip/clasp/comb to the mane. If you start with strong thread that will break under emergency circs you'll be best off although I know some are on leather thonging. You don't need a special piece of equipment, just get beads and bells that you like and start from your middle point threading from one side to the other until you've completed your project.
Good luck hun and lets see some shots of the finished article :)

I've been looking at colours and also thinking of crystals as well.
Be like that nursery rhym 'ride a **** horse to banbury cross'!:p
Not quite sure what OH will make of it however!
Imp - what are you threading yours onto?
I'll have to print off a picture and go into the bead shop, maybe others have also been in and asked as well. They sell all sorts there so I'm sure they heard of it before!

I'm using polished cotton cord... you can buy it on Ebay (not from my shop, honestly :p ). One thing you should be wary of is the size of the hole in the beads you buy in relation to the thread you buy. You could end up with lots of expensive beads that wont fit your thread - annoying!

My OH said "What the heck are those for?". Cisco and I know that he looks very handsome in them.

I have made LOADS of them, LOL enough for an entire 4-H group to parade in ;) I just use leather Thong from Michaels. It threads pony beads super easily, and then an aligator clip to the loose end :)
