but I think it's time for me to join the mature riders area...:o
I'm on the countdown to my 30th birthday, I had a 10 year break from riding for boys, uni and work and i'm (shock horror) talking about marriage and babies

Do I get automatic entry ??? :p

I'm starting to realise that it might be time to join because...

I worry what happens if I break my arm/back/neck riding and can't pay my mortgage if I lose my job
All my joints click or make funny noises
When i'm on my 16.3 share horse, I think 'god, that's a long way to fall'
All the 10 year old kids on my yard are better riders than me
I've given up a well paid job in London to take a more relaxed job based down in sussex for less money but with more time for riding

Where do I queue???

Here are a few photos of bugsy my current share horse - his owner vicky is lovely so I hope she won't mind me showing him off to you all.
I'm going down tonight to ride him on my own hopefully without any one watching... for the first time.
I've had a lesson on him and he's really honest and genuine :)

He's a 16.3 irish x warmblood apparently and has the sweetest temperament.

Forgot to add, that's not me jumping that's his owner!

Hey don't worry about it, on my 23rd Birthday my birthday thread was entitled 'Apparently we have a mature birthday'....and that belongs to Bobbin.
How depressed was I (thanks Garnetfox:p )

Hello, welcome and yep, you're in... besides which I know of a good few teenagers with a mature outlook - rather than miles on the clock  - who happily post here and are very much a welcome part of this forum (my 17 year old daughter included) so at brushing 30, you're WELL in... LOL :D

Piccies are essential you'll find... a 16.3 share horse/mammoth you say - so where are they? :p

He's lovely, madferret -- what a handsome boy.

You'll like being "mature" -- you can wear comfy clothes with no shame. Mmmm, slippers...

That's because we are Ladies ;)

I found a nice comfy pair of work shoes in the 'footglove' section of Marks and Spencers... (if only they made riding boots :p )

AND

I dug out the huge pair of granny knickers (with control top) that (ironically) my nan gave me for xmas 3 years ago. They are most comfortable for riding and don't disspear up your bottom.

:) :o

Hee Hee yeh you're definitley well in. I've never heard of anyone mentioning the blue rinse so we must all be trendy matures here. Your horse is lovely btw. Why is it I always have to stop and pause when people put the abbreviated letters in I can never remember instantly what they all stand for.....Gosh age does have it's down side.

Hmmm .... I'm about twice your age, and none of your bullet points apply to me. I did have a job in London once, but it wasn't that well paid, although I did get to meet some interesting people.

The day my joints start clicking and I start worrying about falling off - that's the day I give up riding.

As for marriage and babies, been there, done that, and been all through Pony Club with the number two baby as well ....

Hmmm, I was wondering if I should be here, I keep 'going past' on way to adults who ride ponies. I'm 25, with two children and I think the achy state of me after my lesson on sunday (have had 3yrs off riding) qualifies me........ i think:)

well i've got hypermobility syndrome which means that i'm always going to have creaking joints and achey pains and probably will have osteoarthritis too in the future:eek: . I'll never give up riding even with my horse allergy and my funny joints :p I thought everyone worried about falling off  just me then :)
Lolahut - please take a seat and fill in our registration form - there's no getting away now you're in...:D

I keep telling everyone that I have natural highlights but everyone seems to thinks it's going grey:p

Even my YO said the other day that I should start thinking about colouring it like the rest of them do:o :o :(
