My thread was gone!

I really want to know how some ponies I used to have are doing so posted a thread on them. Next day it was gone! are these not allowed or something?

Depends where it was posted. Cafe area only holds a certain amount so threads do drop off the end and vanish. If there were no replies for a while then it would vanish faster.

It's not really a topic that's encouraged although I'm not aware of it being a no-go. Not aware of anyone having deleted it particularly either.

Some threads posted in general (there are a few who post them there instead of in cafe where they should be to try and avoid them being deleted ;) ) do get moved to cafe where they belong, and will vanish anyway after a while; it's mainly because NR is such a big site that it really can't support all the updates, introductions, pictures and 'news' type threads posted here. So they all go in cafe, where they'll be seen by all who need to see them and eventually vanish so the server doesn't just collapse under the weight of them all!

You might be better off posting that type of thread on a tracing horses site (there used to be a couple) - it's not really what New Rider was set up for to be honest and not really something we feel is absolutely needed.

Thanks chev, it was only next morning I checked and it really was gone, checked right through and cafe too! Mystery! Didn't know about tracing horses sites, will give it a go-thanks.

Or there's Horse Trace (http://www.horsetrace.com/) - that's one of the ones I was thinking of.
