anyone go to horse auctions for the cheap tack. I went to Reading Horse sales the other day and brand new rugs were going for about £35 pounds!! There was other tack there and if you are brave enough to bid go for a song. Obviously you have non of the back up if it is the wrong size but the auctioneers are pretty ok if you bid for something at the wrong moment and they can auction it again straigt away. Worth checking out for some cheap deals!!!!!

A stable where I worked during a recent 'career break' had a break in over the summer. Through solid good work by one of the women, a few of the saddles were found on eBay for a snip (easily spotted as they were top notch saddles and rather distinctive). When the police visited the seller said she bought them for a pittance at a horse fair/auction although the police are still investigating her as the saddles were so ridiculously cheap, they were obviously knock off when she bought them, hence she could be complicit.

Just sending a 'beware' out as some of them may be dodgy. Saying that I got a lovely deal on a new bridle at the HOYS in December - for £15. Was the last day. yay.

you do have to exercise caution.
My uncle is a policeman (dial 999 in north yorkshire and you'll probably get him!) and hes marked my tack with my name and number with SmartWater (shows up under a UV light) and is offering to do my whole yards as quite often there will be cops at tack safes with UV torches checking things.
