View Full Version : Riding in the rain - with pics!

Well, mustered up the courage to get back on my little horse today, following last week's shenannagins :D Plus I've been a bit knocked off my feet with a wisdom tooth removal - I know, excuses, excuses!
He was so much better - I still had a friend on hand to give me a leg up, and walk with us for a little while, but he settled so much more, and was much more relaxed about the whole returning to riding thing:p Even when the wind started blowning rain into our faces, he wasn't as bothered as he'd usually be.
He went straight into 'super walk' - this little hoss can outpace our usual TB and Warmblood companions out hacking every time! A little bit unnerving for me, I've been riding much bigger, slower moving horses, but he wasn't doing anything wrong really, just a bit 'busy' and slightly grumpy to start with. He settled really nicely though. And no sign of any injury flare up - think I can start breathing more easily about that now.
Anyway, enough of my rambling - here's the pics. Check out my grin:D , it wasn't just for the camera, and is still on my face now!

Aw thanks everyone!
W'ejit - Somehow it seemed like the least stressful reintroduction to riding for him - he's a worrier, and I didn't want him to have to think about bits and saddles as well as everything else.
Lolahutt - I smile every day just to see him, he is a lovely boy, and it's a joy to own him, despite any trials and injuries:)
CWR, Neen, Julia, Coolrider, Palmerlover52 - Thanks for the compliments.:D We've had a lot of negativity directed at us in the past because he hasn't been an easy horse to work with, and people tend to judge him on how he used to be, and his past behaviour. When people like you tell me how beautiful he is, you echo the way I feel. He's a fantastic horse now, by no means perfect, but we're getting there.
Skib - Thank you. It's so nice to have people like you who have supported me through this worrying time:)
Imp - Thanks so much. I take courage from this board, and particularly stories which echo our own. Baby steps......:)

owwwwwwwwww ... getting your wisdom teeth removed really does hurt. That kept me from riding for a week, it was terrible.
But it's great that your back in the saddle.. wait there is no saddle so I guess back on your horse.
Great pictures, he's is so adorable, I love his markings!
