We have had computer problems, but we are now back online!
We had a big day out yesterday. Four of us went on a Pleasure Ride away from the yard.
Sounds quite ordinary but it was a HUGE challenge for Pi and me. When I got him 6 months ago, I was told that he didnt load and had to be sedated on the only two times he travelled. As he was then in a yard 5 mintues from where I keep him that didnt matter.
However, I tried him in a trailer last week and although he sttod at the bottom of the ramp for ages, he did walk on quite calmly!
Yesterday was a bit different and he reverted to his "I am not sure I like this so I'll trot off over here and I dont care about the human on the end of the lead rope" syndrome.
We persevered ( well, my friends did - I was a wreck by now!) and he loaded and off we went. He wasnt even hot when we got to the venue and we had a really great time. Loading on the way back took 10 mins and a couple of token drags, but nothing too bad. I am hoping that if Pi learns that loading means a trip, a nice party and then a trip home to a snuggly bed and lots of hay, he will calm down.
Anyway, I am so proud of both of us this morning (despite the bruises and stiff knees) and our ever first rosette for completing the ride is in pride of place in the sitting room!
