Winter is settling in, and this weekend I was not blessed with good weather to ride :( Instead I made use of the down time and cleaned Dutch's tack. Saddle, bridal, girth, and washed his saddle blanket. All clean now!!! I missed my boy but this next weekend is promising good weather, 60's, sun, and little wind. So I will be out to see my boy and enjoy him. :)

How often do you all clean your tack? Like how many rides in between cleaning sessions?

I have a pair of half chaps that I am getting altered so my fat calf will fit in them. Then I can wear them with my short paddock boots for riding. And I WILL be throwing away my old ratty tall rubber boots. They are horrible. I cannot flex my ankle at all and are very uncomfortable :( There is a show in January but it is a fun and fuzzy show so formal dress is not required. So I will be fine wearing my paddock boots and half chaps. Custom tall boots from Argentina will be ordered within the next 6 months. Very exciting!!!

Just an update from me and my Dutch :) Have a great day!!!

I used to be very good, now I'm not- and that didn't take long!
I try to keep the bit clean and I wash the saddle cloth every few days cos it's white(which I chose so I could see if it was dirty:rolleyes: ).

Every so often, the gals on the yard pull up a bucket to sit on and get down to a tack-cleaning and gossip session- ooh, you should hear the tales that come out during that activity:eek: Bit of fun, though, and a good way to get chores done.
