Could someone please tell me what the difference between a snaffle and a pelham bridle are. Thank You!!!

the definition of a pelham bridle? well, that's affectionately known as "cynthia's worst nightmare"! ;)

i just starting riding with one, and am having quite a time learning how to handle all four reins!

a pelham and snaffle bridle are essentially the same thing. The pelham has one bit in the horse's mouth which has two reins attached to it whereas the snaffle still only has one bit onthe horse's mouth but only one set of reins.

Double bridles (which use two bits in the horse's mouth - a snaffle and a curb (a bit with shanks with the reins at the bottom) are slightly different as they need to have another bit of leather running round behind the horse's ears and down the cheeks to hold the second bit in place. You can make a snaffle bridle into a double bridle simply by adding the sliphead to it.
