whats a lunging lesson my sisters mate is going to give me one on sunday on my horse what is it ?

Sounds like she plans on putting you on your horse and putting the horse on the lunge line so she can control it. Good for working on position and balance.

It means she is going to teach you how to lunge your horse. Like to take it on a long leash like rope and make it go around in circles in a walk/trot/or canter motion.

You can do it with or without the saddle and you dont have to do it only before you ride, you can do it only for excercise too.

Lunging is where you attach a long rope to the noseband ofthe horse (and possibly a second rope), someone stands on the ground in the middle and makes the horse go round them in circles through the different paces.They then change to do the other direction. It can be done with or without a rider. It can be used to train the rider (or horse). The rider is not controlling the horse so they can concentrate just on their position as the horse is moving in a controlled way without them and they don't need to give any aids.
