Is it true that its more difficult to find out your horses sire's side than the dam side?

I traced all of amba's ancestors back on her dams side but for the sire side i cant find a thing about it. :(

I often find it the complete opposite. Lots of information about sires, none about dams.

I wonder why i'm finding it so hard to trace back amba's sire or even grand-sire. I can't fine any information at all. :(

I guess it depends on who the sire was and how well documented his pedigree - do you have anything to go on at all? Did Amba come from a stud?

Amba's pedigree information and she came from a breeder called W.Hunter co.Durham area
