View Full Version : What should I wear?

I am currently helping a friend to train her 3 1/2 year old Clydesdale and she has asked me to ride him in some ridden Clydesdale classes next summer. I have never shown before, and don't have a clue what I should wear!
I know it's quite a long time away but I am extremely short on cash just now (and don't know when I'll be solvent again) so I was thinking about buying the bits & pieces as & when I can afford them.
I know I'll probably have to wear beigs/cream/white jods but apart from that I'm totally stumped, so any help would be great!
Thanks,
Gail. x

i'm not sure if this is correct, but i did watch the ridden clydesdale class at the highland and most seemed to be turned out in beige jods, long boots, a green or brown tweed jacket with shirt and tie.

best of luck, and remember to get some piccies for us when you do get out and about!!

It's probably not overly important, with the class being relatively uncommon, but you can't go wrong with a nice tweed, long boots, and beigey-yellow jods. Navy hat and brown gloves, then a shirt and tie. I'd carry a cane or "toothpick" whip (look on Fylde Saddlery) as you might need the backup for your leg aids.

Thanks for your replies. Thought that was the kind of gear I'd have to get!
EB - don't worry, I'll post plenty of pics!
