making le trec obstacles

I fancy getting my mum and ceri to do more le trec work as she enjoys it and it will help ceris schooling and give mum something to focus on to help improve their partnership.
Ive got cones for weaving through, and will put up a very small jump to step over,circle of shavings, s bend, any ideas how to make a bridge or anything else?

Put a bit of carpet on the floor and see if you can get your pony to walk over it - i had to do this in a TREC comp once - considering mine is quite spooky he surprised me as he didn't bat an eyelid! Put bales oh straw on either side to make it like a corridor.
Could also put 2 poles on the floor about 1m apart and rein back down it - making it a narrower the better you get. you can also trot and canter through it narrowing as he gets better - your not allowed to knock the poles!
I've also done limbo poles where you have to go under a pole that is 20cm above your horses withers so you have to really duck!

I put around "scary" things like

paper / plastic bags / balloons tied to fence
I found some "scarecrows" in a cheapie shop - meant to be a garden ornament really :rolleyes:
washing on a line
tarpaulin to walk over
childrens windmills and / or milk bottle tops on a string redundant england flags from the world cup :D :D :D


if you get REALLY brave you can put a gazebo up :eek: :D

I have my brain on warning to come up with ideas cheap / light bridge to make........ will let you know if any of them work ;)

mmmmmmm now theres a good un .......... quick visit to rockfields coming on now I think ... they got big sheets of the stuff !!!
