Just wonder what you are all feeding at the moment in this one minute mild, the next minute cold winter weather. My mare is holding her weight really well this winter especially seeing as how she lives out 24/7 and I've upped her work load quite considerably, but I'm always interested in what everyone else gives and swears by. ;)
Morning Feed:
4 scoops of readi-grass for a nice long munch
250 grams Top Spec balancer
1/4 scoop of soaked speedi-beet
1/4 cup of oil
carrots
Evening Feed:
2 scoops of Alpha-A Lite
250 grams Top Spec balancer
3/4 scoop of soaked speedi-beet
1/4 cup of oil
carrots
I stuff as much hay down her as I can on the yard as she's in a field of good doers who live off fresh air and their owners don't want to hay the field yet. :( Fortunately we still have quite a lot of grass.

Morning - nothing put out at grass
Evening (when he comes in) - 1 small square scoop High Fibre Cubes in snack-a-ball, ad-lib hay & ad-lib Horselyx
Evening (after ridden) - 4 big handfuls Happy Hoof, 2 small square scoops sugar beet (soaked measure), supplements.
4 small square scoops High Fibre Cubes in snack-a-ball, ad-lib hay overnight & ad lib Horselyx.
Rugged LW stable rug overnight if really cold and rain-sheet when turned out or MW rug when turned out if weather really foul.
Worked 1 hour 4/5 nights a week.
He's holding his weight MUCH better than last year when I had him on feed balancers and all sorts of feed but this year he just doesn't seem to need it :)

Mine are both getting the same at the moment, and both holding weight although the field they're in for now is beginning to tail off. The both come in for about 6 hours a day to eat as much hay as they can and have one meal a day consisting of 1 large heaped scoop of alfa oil, 450g of Topspec antilam, and a hydrated fistfull of speedibeet plus supplements (cortaflex and calmag). Will split into two feeds when it gets really cold and add Topspec cool conditioning cubes if necessary.

Jess and Bo are getting a double handful of alfa-A and a double handful of bran twice a day, plus 1 small square scoop of grass nuts (dry measure) soaked and split between them for supper. They get adlib hay in the paddock and stable.
Bo is working about 45 minutes 5 days a week and Jess is only doing about 15 minutes 2-3 days a week.
Phoenix our oldie is getting loads of feed, I am hoping to be able to start cutting his feed down soon.
He gets 5lb of conditioning cubes, 5 lbs of grass nuts, 2lbs of HiFi Lite and 1lb of soaked barley rings twice a day, he also gets a weight gain supplement split between his feeds and probiotics and vits.
Plus he gets 2.5lbs of CC and GN (5lbs total) in his snack ball in the day.
Then he gets an extra bucket of HiFi for over night.
And he is now on very good grass 24/7, so I hope to reduce his feed alot in the next week :D

Golly Yann, do you think my porky girl is getting too much? I give a big meal but it's only fibre (or heaven in a bucket, as I call it!) :o

it's got very cold up here in scotland. The frost never lifted at all yesterday! my youngster is holding weight very well on 2 large scoops of hi-fi lite and 1/2 scoop barley (plus supplements). Toby was dropping weight, but we've upped him to his heavyweight rugs, and increased his feed to 2 scoops hi-fi lite and 1 scoop fibremix easy and he's much happier now :) both feeds get dampened with speedi-beet (Kez gets about a scoop, tobs 1/2 a scoop) and they get that once a day. they've 4 acres of good grazing to go at aswell, although we may start putting hay out soon.
