my american quarter horse and her foal

hi, this is actually my mums horse and foal, isnt she so cute!!! her name is emmylu (waccalena maplesyrup) and the foal is just called dallas at the mo. in the pics dallas is only a day old:D

what do you all think about the 'american quarter horse' breed?

What do I think of Quarter Horses? I love them - specifically my sweet little mare Olds Red Music who was pts in 2000. She was imported by the Sternbergs - one of their first - in 1986 and I loved her. I owned her for 13 years and she taught me how to ride Western as she was a schoolmistress at 5. We competed succesfully in western, showing and dressage and we were picked to give displays and go on a team to represent England (doing western). (She was great so made up for me).

She was so lovely, intelligent, well behaved and well trained that everyone loved her and she loved them. Even the vet treating her at Newmarket said that she reminded him why he wanted to do his job she was so super. Like many quarter horses, she liked to be with people, head on your shoulder, more than with other horses.

Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to talk QH, your mare and foal are lovely and I hope you have as much pleasure from them as I had from my dear Red.

its nice to hear from another QH owner. when u buy a QH you dont want to buy any other breed. emmylu is 15 now so we put her in foal so we have got a replacement horse for the future. emmylu tought us to ride western as she is an ex riding school horse, we will keep her for ever. thanks for the reply :D

I like the QH's as a breed, the only thing I don't like is the line breeding that goes on (causes far to many problems), I can't understand why people would do that to such fantastic animals. Hense I only have a part bred mare myself :D
Your colt looks really cute, and the mare nice too :D when was he born?
