Has anyone tried putting their mare on this?
Did you find it made any difference?
I have also heard of people mixing their own moody mare with raspberry leaves, etc. Has anyone tried this? Does have the same effect as Moody Mare will?

Ditto on the oestress!!!
Friend uses it on her mare Mara and it stops her knocking lumps out of her showjumping horse Eric although she is only just turnong 4 so she might not need it long term.

A friend on mine feeds raspberry leaves (brought from a health food shop) and it does seem to help her mare a bit.
For my mare I got Oestress, she was very mareish, would kick anything including me if I was in the wrong place  but with the oestress she calmed right down and was an angel all summer. I did take her off it at one point, but soon put her back on it, boy could you see a difference!
She is only young, so I am going to try and wean her off it next summer.

Oestress made a difference to my mare all summer long. Can't praise it highly enough.

Is Oestress available over here in Canada? Honestly I have never heard of it, except on NR.

Tried moody mare had no affect on amba what so ever i had her on two tubs over a period of time of course and it never differed her temperament.
Also tried Oestress worked a bit better but amba still behaved naughtily ridden and ground work, shes not on anything now but has settled a lot even though shes in season at the moment shes not too dangerous ;), if she continues to be naughty next summer might look into getting the wendalls i think it is their moody mare supplement as i've heard good things about that one. :)

Haven't got time to google it, but is oestress the one based on chasteberry?

If it is simply chasteberry, that is very easy for me to obtain! I can buy that from the same place I am planning on buying raspberry leaves from.

thanks for the link jovi.
It's hormonise I was thinking of, not oestress:
"Hormonise is part of the Attitude range, and formulated to be beneficial to the hormonal funcions of mares, stallions and rigs. Hormonise is liquid chaste berry, proven to work on the hypothalamus and pituitary glands and their hormonal functions, and can have a beneficial effect where PMS type symptoms are evident through oestrogen imbalance. Available in 1ltr, 2.5ltr, 5ltr."

I know chasteberry is used to good effect in humans, so may try this for madam in the spring.
