Show snaffle bits

Mom bought me a pretty show snaffle for Coquette for Christmas (yes I know it's not Christmas yet, but I was there when she bought it because she never knows what to buy me). Are these bits only for really young horses (two year olds), or can any horse that's still eligible to be ridden two-handed in a snaffle use these bits?

Depends on your organization, MANY now offer "snaffle bit" classes for rider's and horses of all ages :) Just check the rules, there is a good chance you can use it esp since you are "novice".
