cateracts in horses

my cremello pony has cateracts in both eyes,
she is a fit and heathy 28 year old, still ridden and lightly competed sj, i only noticed there was a problem when she started to spook at shadows, and dark grey surfaces, as anyone any experience etc they could share with me,
my vet says shes fine to carry on doing what she normally does, and i will only have to consider stopping her ridden works, if she starts to trip excessivly, which she dosnt do at all at the moment,

My mum's horse Livvy has cataracts too, but when we bought her the vet said that they were in no way affecting her vision, so we don't worry about it. They will catch up with her eventually but until then we plan to enjoy her to the full. I wouldn't worry until your vet says it's time to do so!
