I wonder if anyone can give me some advise. I have a four year old cob who's never been shy about peeing under saddle. My problem is, he does up to 4 pees in a hack which are about 1.5 to 2 hours long (the hack are!!! :) ) His pee isn't unusually dark, nor is it cloudy. The first pee he does has quite a lot of pressure, after the first one the pressure kind of gets less.
Has he just got a weak bladder, or is this something I have to worry about? I would be very grateful for any advise. Thank you

Interested too see what replies you get...

I wonder... do horses wee as territory marking, like other animals do? Could he smell others as you hack and want to say "hey guys, this is my patch!"???

Don't know whether this amount of peeing could be an indication of any particular ailment, but I've known a few geldings who pee for England. I was at a ode with my friend today & her horse did a pee before dressage, a pee before sj & another pee before xc! He always seems to have a pee just before he jumps xc, I think he likes to lighten the load a bit. By contrast, my old cob seemed to be a bit self-conscious about peeing & if he went to a show, he would often go the whole day without a pee then do Niagara Falls as soon as he set foot in his stable!

I'm also interested to see if anyone has any peeing horse insights...

Interesting :p could it perhaps be to do with the combination of his conformation and his saddle sitting on his bladder a bit causing him to think he needs to pee loads?
Unless there is odd colouring/small/leaking I wouldn't be overly concerned :p
