My horse and I just finished our first eventing season! We only moved from Beginner Novice to Novice, but we still had a blast. Would you critique the cross country photos of us?

All the photos are copyright of Xpress Foto, and I understand that they may not be the best quality and might be a little hard to see closely.

Album (http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/ViewAlbum.aspx?a=343529)

I added the pictures into an album for easy access.. let me know if the album works!

Thanks a lot!

It is good to see you are allowing the horse over the fences but you need to push you bum back a bit, if you had a refusal you would fly ;) In the last few pics (they all seem the same) your lower leg has slipped back, you need to keep it secure around the girth area. Pushing your bum back will help this.

Other than that you look really confident and happy :)

There's one where it looks like you've got let behind as your bum is in the saddle and there is no give with the reins but these things happen ;) As with the showjumping pics you need to keep your bum back a bit, fold from the hips more rather than tipping from the hips. Your toes are pointing out away from the horse, you need to keep your toes pointing forwards.
Follow the horse's mouth more rather than giving the reins to the ears.
Looks like a really confident ride and your horse looks bold. You look a good team and the above are quite minor points but they will make a major difference to your security especially when you go to the bigger jumps :)
