BUT not due to the lovely Robbie who was an absolute star!
He seemed really chilled this morning and a lovely girl who has been riding my horse a bit, was coming up for a hack so I thought OK, seize the oppurtunity and take him out in company, as have been told he prefers that. Was a little worried as only rode him in school at viewing and he only came yesterday but he seems like the sort that likes a job, so tacked up.

Had to have a quick bite before we left.:)

He was a bit fussy about standing at the block but might just be worried and if not will get Kelly marks out and we can work on that together-not a problem.
He strode out, down the drive, past our scary goats, in front, ears pricked, down lane through 2 huge open fields. My horse was being a trollop and having a strop about everything, didnt want to go behind, didnt want to go in front, he just ignored her.
Did several quite difficult gates from him, then just after we had got into the woods my horse did a massive strop, shot past him, kicking as she went, galloped off and dumped her rider
He was Soooooooooooo good, obviously he wanted to follow (strange people, strange place and other horse goes-he would wouldnt he) but he listened to me, and let me turn him round in opposite direction, waited quietly for me to get off and go to my friend. She was fine if a little muddy
After that we swopped and I rode evil baggage, she rode Robbie. Uneventful after that, apart from the mad barking dog house which we did nice lateral canter past whilst robbie just did his own thing-not bothered at all
here we are back, well not me, my taller thinner friend with the odd smudged face!
He looks like he had a good time :)

Then tonight he came to the gate to come in when he saw me and stuck his nose in the head collar.
As I put his feed in. just said "back" and he politely stepped back
Ah-true love :)
Will stop boring you all for a while now!

PS anyone for a psychotic appaloosa mare before she goes to the glue factory :)

Oh Miggy, what a star you have.:D Most horses new to a stable wouldn't behave as well as that. I remember when I'd only had Sen for a couple of weeks, taking him away from a hacking partner while out, and him having a strop and tanking off with me. Lucky lucky Miggy. :D By the way, I love the pic. Pity about your friend's muddy face though.;)

Robbie reminds me sooo much of Red - he would have done exactly the same in those situations!

Although I wouldn't have been confident to ride the evil baggage and would have been [U]more/U] than happy to stay on Robbie :D

Sammi-I would rather have stayed on Robbie but as it was MY evil baggage, thought I ought to offer!

NN-if youve still got your trailer hitched up and fancy an Appie, the dogs are locked away :)

ROFL....:D I would love an Appy...:D Not sure OH would be too pleased. I spend enough time down at the stables with just 1 horse. He would have to book an appointment with me if I owned 2..:p
