Hi, I know that a good way to help exercise for horseback riding is yoga. Does anyone know a great site that has the positions and stuff for free? Thanks!:)

Nope sorry. You could also try the Alexander Technique. This is similar to yoga but concentrates more on posture which is more beneficial for riding. I'm starting classes soon so I'll let you know how I go on.

I used to do yoga classes but I found the day was ruined as I got so relaxed all I wanted to do afterwards was sleep. Not good when 4 horses want their tea!!

Sorry I can't be of more help, but have you tried your town library? I got a couple of nice well-illustrated books out last year when I wanted to try a few yoga stretches. Books are so much easier to refer to while you're doing the exercises than a website. My local library even has videotapes on yoga for loan.

Go to this link (http://http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1570761361/qid=1015192728/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-3758864-5199826), and there's a book on yoga for riders (and other recommendations).

My above post....there's something wrong...an error and I can edit my messages!

Anyways, go www.amazon.com and write in Yoga for Equestrians (in the book section), and it should bring you to that book and other recommendations. Click on the book title for reviews. Hope this helps!

What type of yoga are you interested in? I love yoga. I started with bikram yoga, but not being able to get to the gym as often as I would like, I switched to ashanti (?) It is a lot more physical. Bikram is nice because the heat allows your muscles to stretch more, just make sure you drink lots of water.
