Had my third riding lesson today, which was really good. I had a different instructor today.

I did steering today, which I really enjoyed. I had to steer round some cones and over a pole. I had to stop Merlin, the horse I was riding with just his front legs over the pole.

I also did some trotting. Struggled a bit to get Merlin to trot, so had to use a whip and and evertrully he trotted round the whole Menage.

Booked my lesson for next week. Can't wit. Really enjoying this and Merlin is so lovely.

Hi hun!!!
Glad you are having such a good time...Merlin sounds like a darling!
Steering sounds like fun would like to do more work on that myself...might suggest it tomorrow as I haven't had a lesson in what feels like weeks due to illness and the whole sorry saga that has been my run of bad luck over the last month:rolleyes: Still as you said in the pm all things come in 3s..so fingers crossed~ knowing my luck RI will cancel as the forcast here is appalling for tomorrow.

Anyway congrats on a fab lesson take care

Hi i am having my third lesson tomorrow - my lesson was cancelled on tuesday due to heavy ran (as soon as i got back home the rain stopped and the sun shinned - typical) so fingers crossed the weather holds tomorrow but the forcast doesnt look to good though!!

Deana - the steering does sound good, i could do with that. Will let you know how i get on.

Has anyone heard from Amys mum? I know her little one wasnt well?

I am curious..... are you learning the steer with your legs and body position/weight or the reins?

Hope you have a good lesson, its raining here this morning, not too badly though.
I had to miss my lesson yesterday, that made me feel grumpy for the rest of the day, I have no idea when I will get to go again.
Have a great time.

Such a shame you had to miss your lesson. Hope you get to go again soon.

It is drizzling here now. The riding school is about 20 min drive from here and they haven't called to cancel, so hopefully it is OK there.

Luckily rain held off for lesson, which was great.

I rode big Doug today who was gorgeous. He is 27 years old and more forward going than Merlin. I love Merlin, but it was great to have a horse who was more eager. We did the same as last week and also did 3 loop sepentines, figures of 8 and change of reins in trot. My balance was a little wobbly at times, but generally i was pleased. The RI says I am inproving and I felt I had too. The other RI said she could see an improvement too, which i was pleased about and said i smile a lot when riding as did my husband who watched today. I din't realised i smiled when riding, but i do love it so. Booked for next week.

My husband has said i can have a horse on load possibly with a view to buy which he has always been dead against as he can see how much i love it.

I always look incase, but am in no rush as I need a horse suitable to my needs and me theirs.

A returnee after many years. I am really a beginner though as it is oh so different than before and I was not very advanced then.

I love it. Wish I had returned years ago.

I go to Tarrazona on the Lynn Road, Wisbech. It is the only one i have been to in this area, but I really like it.

Hi, nice to hear from you. Hows the back feeling now?

Bless your four year old. Mine wanted to cuddle all the horses. They have ponies small enough for her at the RS, so might take her for a lesson in the summer.

I am not in any rush for a loan, so will wait patiently for the right horse. It is a brakthrough eith m OH though.

Everything crossed for tomorrow. The wind was a bit up today here, which spooked Big Doug a bit, but stayed dry. Is not now though.

And yes i am a lot more comfortable after a kesson now.

You take care and don't be a stranger. And as others have said they may be other ways to be involve in riding, such a driving, once you are more up to it.
