Arrrrrrgh! I must be mad!!!!

I must be totally crazy:rolleyes:
On sunday, i am entering a showjumping competition at my RS!:eek: I think i must be mental as i dont have much confidence jumping but my RI thinks i can do it!:o

The jumps are only 1'6-1'9 so i just thought "what the heck, ill just do it and be happy if i get round!"

However, the only *steed* that is left is a 12h welshie called sparky! Hehe!:p
I will definately get pics for you all, will be quite hilarious! Only if the internet is working on my computor though cos im on my mums atm!

Anyway, what do i have to wear to a RS SJ comp? Does it matter if i dont wear the proper SJ jacket and cream jods etc??
Anyone got any tips for remembering a course?

Aww good luck.
Wlak the corse with a friend and walk it once or twice, then stand it the middle and go over it again.
Watch the person before you go in and watch the corse, you will remember it :D
When you walk the corse, walk it like you would if you were riding it, ie corners etc.

The dress depends on the riding school really.
With show jumping you can were blue/black jacket, tie and white/cream jods or a tweed with canery jods, up to you :D if you do not have these then just look smart:)

Go on ebay, they are cheap as chips, then once you have your jacket, all you need is a white shirt i am sure you haver one of those? and youe school tie, dads tie,brothers tie?
Or even go in a charity shop for a tie.

It's unlikely the RS will be picky about clothes, so long as you are clean and neat, and of course have a current standard hat - just check with them to put your mind at rest.

As for doing the course, treat it as an extra lesson. Remember to breathe, and try to smile - it makes you feel better! they always used to announce my horse (Sulan African Fire) as Sullen - and he wasn't, he was a cheerful little chap - but it made me laugh, which always helped :)

Make sure you walk the course; and then take each jump one at a time, though obviously try and be aware of where you're aiming next! Come down to trot in between if it helps you organise yourself..

most of all, have loads of fun :)

Thanks, i think it would make myself more confident if i did it in trot but ill just see how well i remember the course and what happens on the day!
I rang the RS today but there was no reply:mad: but i left a message so hopefully they should get back to me.
