Critique please :) Jumping pics!

Ok, my weekend story :)
Worked on Saturday with the YO, was great fun! After we'd turned them out and did the front 2 stables, we had a quick tea break (hehe... it was too early and cooold!!) and during that YO rang RI so that we could have a lesson if she was free. We arranged 10. So we decided to get our horses ready and do the rest of the yard later. Got them ready, put 3 poles out and YO remembered something..VERY important!! Someone else had booked a lesson at 10.30. Had been booked for ages, written on the board etc. YO just forgot, lol. So we did all the mucking out and Zola spent the day in Magic's stable. For lunch we went off to the chippy! I get spoiled rotten! :D Instead of having a lesson with RI, we had our own :D It was great! YO did some jumping with me and Zola was just... :eek: amazing! YO kept saying how much of a pleasure it was to watch! She was going really well, going in a fantastic rhythm! Not too fast, nor too slow! Did some 'on the angle jumps' and a good course! Our YO is fab :D And Zola is too!!!! She had none down, and no refusals, AGAIN! *So happy!* Im so chuffed with her! Maybe now my dream of eventing her can come true!!!!

To top it all off, on Sunday she was great too :D Did some more jumping, only one jump though, she was ace!! Got pics too! They were took on my phone b/c the camera ran out of battery! But well done to mum! Shes never even TOUCHED my phone, let alone took all the technical pictures! :D

I agree with CWR also, I think your position in the first pic is great! toes are in, your parallel to Zola and your bum is back! You hyave really improved if you dont mind me saying, your release has come on loads, looks much better.

You and Zola are doing great together, she looks comfortable and confident at that height bless her. Shes ever so adorable. Sunny is also very beautiful.:D

What a cute pony! Looks like you had loads of fun!

First Pic: In the first pic you seem like you have fallen behind the rythm. You seem to be reaching for the stirrups as well. Which might explain the position of you hands. I like where they are on your ponies neck, in the middle, where they should be. You seem to have closed both your hands together and appear to be relying on the ponies neck to stay balanced. Open up your chest which will also help to keep your elbows closer to your sides as they seem to be sticking out. I love that your eyes are up, looking up to your next fence. I love also, how your pony is keeping it's front end tight and tucking making sure to not knock a rail. However her legs could go up a bit.

Second Pic: You are closing your hip angle better than the first. Heels are down, toes are up. Your hands are in the right place and your eyes are up. However you are again relying to much on the horses neck for balance which would tell me your leg is not strong enough. Because you are almost lying on your wrists, your elbows are again coming out causing you to loose your center.

Third Pic: Your chest is is open more this time, which has offered you more balance. Your have lengthend your release to encourage the pony to extend and use it's neck to get over the jump. However your eyes are down and your back looks a little hollowed. You and the pony seem a little out of balance. Maybe the pony took off too late? One of the ponies knees is hanging and they are not as tucked as in the second and tight like in the first.

Wow! What an improvement! The first picture is the best, the only thing I would like to see is your heel down and a bigger release. Your leg is in a solid position, however, and you are centred over the saddle by the looks of it! You two have improved by leaps and bounds, and I think you two are jumping at a great height. Good work! :)

I'd just like to say how good you look in these. Remember this thread http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89997 I didn't say anything, but I was inclined to agree with those that said take your time and work on the way you jump rather than the height. You obviously took it on board, just compare your poisition and the way Zola is jumping in the two threads, you might be 6 inches (if that) lower, btu you look 100x better.
