hi everyone

i'm thinking about doing a degree in equine science and i wondered in anyone had any ideas for jobs that i oculd do after. One thing that interests me is horse welfare/rehabilitation. Is there anyone that could provide me with more info about jobs in horse welfare.

Also, i want to do my BHS 1 and 2 exams before i go to uni as it helps u to get on the course. Does anyone have ideas how these are normally run eg: is it a 1 hoir lesson a week or is it day/ week courses.

Thanks for any info at all:D

hi, im in Y12, i just got the writtle prospectus today, it looks good except the accomadation is really expensive and theres only 20 stables available to take your own horse.

I thought about going to moreton morrel in warick which looks really nice, also thats only about 90minutes away from where i live and writtle is about 3hrs.

At the moment im only doin as levels but they are PE, biology, and business studies. what about you?

i think i might take a year out after the second year and go and work at yards in america or australia, maybe both as i wasnt to travel as well as get expereince. I've already got some though becasue i work saturdays at a racing stables.

if u want u can pm me or e-mail me at elliemae94@hotmail.com

Did you know that The Open College of Equine Studies does an equine degree course - and people like me (and maybe you) who already have an occupation outside of horses can do this. It is largely a correspondence course but does involve study weeks (one this year for me) at their centre.

One site i would always recommend www.ucas.co.uk - they give you a list of colleges doing degrees - and hopefullly links to their websites too. - the colleges generally can give you an outline of what sort of things you can do after the degree - hope this helps:)

Hi elle

Have you had a look at Hartpury College - it is in Gloucestershire and has it's own web site - it is huge and does BHS exams/degree courses. There is also a stud and an equine therapy unit, i'm sure you could find something there to suit you.:)

I have done several part-time courses over the years and they have been excellent.
