I would say GO GIRL!!!!

I love to see heavier horses enjoying themselves just as much as the littler horses!!!

I once saw a shire horse doing dressage and it was amazing!!!

Fully on the bit and not a double bridle with the flowing mane and feathers it was soooooooo slow and graceful!!!!

Gorgeous!!! Keep it up!!!!!

I laugh and laugh til Im on the floor because people think Milly is easy to ride:D :D (Seriously I do)... I let them ride her but don't get anywhere with her really, for example, one lass who rode her thinking she was easy, Milly did nothing but go backwards... I just sat there killing myself laughing whilst watching her trying to get her to move:rolleyes:

sj-wanabe = are you aiming to jump bsja with yours or you already are? (cos I wanna to bsja with mine and she clearing 85cms courses like a piece of cake really)

jenren = not my own horse but I feel privileaged to loan her because she has taught me what its like to cope with a mare who likes her own way, we both now trust each other completly and somehow, she always know how to make me laugh :) i abso adore milly :)

Good old cobs and X cobs :D and not to forget the good old irish bred pony *mine*!!!
Good to see you out there!
It annoys me when people think only warmbloods etc can be amazing at dressage !

About 1 in 4 horses I see jumping at a similar level (or higher!) here are of the same type. Mostly because there are lots of IDxcobs IDxcoloureds who are fabulous jumpers, sometimes they don't need the TB/WB influence at all.
Cobxconnemara crosses are popular too for the bigger classes.

Nice horse :)

i wouldn't be suprised. My irish cob can jump courses of 3ft6 and leave every fence standing. he's also a dab hand at dressage........

One of my favourite local horses on the SJ circuit up here when i was a kid was a pure bred irish draft stallion called Pride of Meath. Big, substantial chap and very successful.

My old cob did a 3 ft 7 class with me at Hickstead, we did get some very funny looks from people in the crowd when we went in the ring because most of the other competitors were very posh compared to us but we didn't disgrace ourselves & got a huge cheer when we finished. He won open XCs & ODEs and did really well at dressage too. He always got loads of attention, I'm sure his size, colour & hairyness appealed to people. Bless him.

Iron Maiden its so nice to see that. If it was me watching it would be yours i'd be cheering on! I like unique ;).

I think some people do put their cobs down due to the stereotypical warmbloods and TBs competing but i think they'd be amazed at how much talent their cobs actually have.

Of course alot arent strictly built for the job, but then again for those with the talent but not the greatest physique i think deserve the admiration. Pure talent.

Thanks all for saying such lovely things about him. I lost him over the summer so very very sad but what a joy and privilege to have owned him.

Hal - all the best with your lovely cob, I am sooooo jealous!

Yeh, power to cobs, they rock!!!:D

tinkerbell - he prefers driving (he doesn't ride anymore) but he has been more supportive about unaff which is a really good start so once Ive proved she capable of a BN track, I will approach him about it then (hope he says yes! :) )

Thanks Iron Maidden :)

I love to see cobs jump, especially with all their feather and mane flying - brill!!!

Theres an old cob at the RS I go to, he can be a really good plod, but as soon as he sees a jump, he spices up big time. You get people laughing when you mention him jumping, but at the last jumping day (its banned now :( - health and safety) he wiped the floor with everyone and left all the people think he was a plod with their jaws on the floor as he kicked up dust into them :D Fab!!!

DONT GIVE IT ANOTHER THOUGHT!;)
A girl i teach had to sell her horse as he was too much for her but he looked the part. We found this super little horse called Princess and all everyone ever did was call her a cart horse.
Now everyone is amazed cos this little horse is the only horse thats goes out consistantly week after wk getting double clears in discovery..not long til we moving her into newcomers..so GO ON GIRL go prove em all wrong, we did! lol

My friesain filly (yes... FRIESIAN!!) decided the cows field next to her had better grass and jumped th hedge that had barbed wire both sides  Was about 4ft high..probs higher and aout 2ft wide and cleared it without a scratch on her. She also decided to jump the fence into the geldings field and play with byron and murphy and that fence had to be over 4ft and it was on a hill with a drop this side

Some of these heavy/deep chested horses will just fly if you can get them motivated

Lovely to see all these cobs flying :D My welsh D is hopefully a bsja prospect - I know she's not as heavy as some, but maha she may only be 14.3hh but she's got a huge stride and we'll be able to do the tighter corners which not all 17hh warmbloods can. :D

Cobs are way too under rated! My 14.1 Dales (so he is cobbie) jumps over 4ft with me and is fast at time. So I would say thats brilliant, cobs are amazing. That horse is absolutly georgeous by the way!

Cobs have always been considered second class horses. What s load of rubbish they can be outstanding all rounders. Iron Maiden your cob looks stunning and its just the ignorent people who make comments. By the way why is there a hoeses backside in the car in your photo :D :D I thought that Rohan was the only one who liked to get into cars. Sorry dident see first photo second one brill you look great Pippa eat your heart out :)
