i took Oscar off to do his (and mine) first dressage tests today at merrist wood (he is only 4yrs!) and he was brill!
well i had to get up bright and early this morning to be at my yard or 6am!!!!(too early!!). I fixed the three plaits that needed doing on oscar n put his saddle on with all his booties n ruggies n popped him in my friends amy's hoursebox (sooo nice has a tv with dvd player in it n we had bacon sarnies n ried egg for breakfast (well veeryone else di coz i don't eat egg or bacon!) tongue.
I got oscar out and tacked him up n started warming him up. he was full of energy! and bouncing round but he soon calmed down. it was soooo cold there!!!! i had no toes let!
then we went in and did our prelim 7. he had a good look in the mirror and he found it great fun to spook at the markers as they were obviosly going to jump out and eat him so every time we went past one he jumed about 6m in from the track!! his trot was good and he was brill when going down the centre line and across the diagnoll coz there was nothing to spool at! tongue.gif tongue.gif but he rushed into his canter and fel out of it a couple of times. so i came out feeling quite posistive as parts o it had gone well.
then bout 10mins later i was in for prelim 10. this time he didnt have a fit every time he saw a white board and he was listening more but his canter was still a bit rushed on one rein but at least he went on the correct lead! smile.
then we put him away and went to wait for my results. I got 54.5% in prelim 7 and Amy got 57.5% and then for the prelim 10 i got 55.9% ( we didnt wait around for amy's) and i also grace and her mum there n megan with frosty!
so even though i might not have got a amazing percentage it was both mine and Mr O's irst ever dressage and he did so well!
