I am giving up my lease with Hunni and stopping lessons for the time being. I think I will do some trail riding at a different barn for a while and see what else comes up. I think someone else is going to lease him and take him out on the trail which is what he loves best so I'm pretty happy about that. He was so good in our lesson today. Goodby Hunni!!

Did I miss a thread? Have things not been going well, or is it just time for a change?

Time for a change I think.
My RI and I parted friends which was important to me. There are two other trainers at the barn; hunter/jumper (no), dressage (looks like fun) and a western trainer supposedly coming soon (yes!). But I would feel bad switching over to another RI and I think I would like a break from riding on a regular basis for a while. I could have still leased Hunni without the lessons but I have not found anyone to trail ride there with after the time I went a few weeks ago and had such a good time.
I will be busy in the next couple of months since there are some family things to settle, mostly moving my parents to another state and into assisted living, selling their car and condo, disposing of furniture, etc.
Anyway, this should be just a temporary break.

...and it's not the best time of the year for getting a lot of riding in, so, yes.
Best for all your things to do, and have a very Merry Christmas :)

Oh no. I really started to get used to enjoying regular appearances of the Hunni factor. We'll miss him. Hopefully we won't have to miss you because you can still stick around from time to time?

That all makes sense Laura Jeanne. One of the advantages of not owning a horse is that one can take a break to sort out retirement, elderly parents etc..
And shop around to find the horse and the riding that suits one at the time. Hope you have a happy Christmas.

Today is actually the last day of my lease but it is cold and pouring rain.
Here is me and Mr. Ho Hum Hunni having a go at the NR around the world challenge:
