I havent been on in a while because my internet was down
But its ok now *crosses fingers*
I hope everyone had a great christmas!
Well anyway, some of you may know that i attempted a showjumping competition at my RS on Sunday 17th December. I have never jumped a corse before, i hate jumping uprights becuase i had quite a bad fall at one of them, and also i was riding a 12h welshie who i had never rode before and he was sooo lazy :o
Anyway, i walked the corse about 15 times and i definately knew it off by heart! Then i started warming up and the arena was packed! Sparky (pony i was riding) was very moody and kept trying to bite everyone! So i had to keep my distance and ride very carefully. By the time i was next but about 3 i was soooo nervous. My riding instructor was saying "dont worry nat your a great rider" (Bless). So in the end, in the warm up arena i jumped a small x pole and felt quite confident so then it went up to a 1ft upright (i was led over it at 1st:o ) Then, it went up again to about 1ft6 and i cant believe i did it! I was so proud of myself! Then i was called in. I started all wrong (i know this now) becuase i should have got him into a rythmn before i jumped no.1 but i didnt and becuase he is lazy and i couldnt really get him going he refused. So then i went again at a canter and he flew over bless him. Then we jumped the grid thingy then he started to slow down round the corner and my steering went.
he ran out and then we did it again and he ran out again so i got disqualified:rolleyes: :o

But never mind because i am just pleased that i jumped an upright without losing balance or anything. (i havent jumped one since my fall about 3/4 years ago) So now, i have a lot more confidence in jumping, and i love it again! I also love Sparky because he did look after me:D

Anyone who read all that deserves a medal! Sorry its soooo long, ill shut up now;)

Well done! Glad to see you are becoming more confident! I just love those moments of conquering my fears and just doing it!

thanks everyone!
An upright is a straight (parallel) jump. ie a cross pole looks like this X and an upright looks like this -.
