what are the levels?

in dressage (england) what are the levels and what order do they go in? i am completly confused :eek: nd also how are you scored on your test? my instructor keeps saying that some of my transitions would get me an 8! but it would be nice if i knew what he was talking about:p

Preliminary
Novice
Elementary
Medium
Advanced Medium
Advanced
Prix St George
Intermediare I & II
Grand Prix

Scale of points:

0 = not executed
1 = very bad
2 = bad
3 = fairly bad
4 = insufficient
5 = sufficient
6 = satisfactory
7 = fairly good
8 = good
9 = very good
10 = excellent

Oh and meant to add ... there are a number of different tests at each level so for 2006 you had Prelim 1, 4, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 & 18 and so on.

Why not ask your RI if you can run through some of the tests? The Prelim and Novice ones are fairly doable and will give you something to work towards :)

ok thanks for the help :) adnd i will make sure i get to practise some test so i can enter a show sometime :)
