SFS is referring to what you first posted - asking people to tell you what they think of your position and the pony's jumping. But there were no pics, so she couldn't. :)

But you have since edited your post to ask something different - slightly confusing!!

Getting more confused by the minute...

SJ-Mad - when you first posted this thread, the question you asked was 'can you tell me what you think of my position? And my pony's jumping?' That was all. There were no pics to look at.

SFS replied, saying she would love to, but couldn't since there were no pics.

Then you edited your first post to say something completely different and replied to SFS saying 'what'.

So I explained, 'what'!!

If there is a point to this thread, please clarify it!

If not, I'll just close it and save wasting anyone else's time!

I think if you are landing up on your pony's neck, you are probably leaning too far forward for the landing. as your pony lands, you should be leaning back abit futher.

It would be better if you have a photo? But I think that's what you wanted to know?

If you join Photobucket.com (it's free & holds tonnes of photos), you should be able to post quite easily. If not, I can give you my email address & I can post it for you. :)

If you ARE landing on your ponys neck after the jump, you are most likely pinching with your knees, which tips your upper body foreword, and swings your lower leg back, losing your base of support, which throws you on the ponys neck.

it is hard to tell w/o pics though...

spot on! That's that I used to do (well... sometimes still do!) But as my current horse hates jumping & tries to wriggle out of it, I don't have time to pinch with my knees 'cause I'm constantly trying to keep him even between hand & legs!!

You need to fix this on the flat by cantering lines of poles and keeping your upper body balence.
