Just got my equest pramox from vet and saw in leaflet it says keep horses off pasture for three days after worming  is this for real? Do you guys keep neds in after tapeworming (I know we didnt at my old yard) or is this if they are turned out with other neds not tapewormed at same time..? *scratches head*

ideally everytime you worm you should keep your horses in for at least 2 days so that you are not contaminating the fields with the eggs that pass out into the droppings.
in reality not many people do this and another alternative is to ensure all droppings are removed from the field everyday after worming, or even better as soon as the horse has produced them but standing with your horse with a pooper scooper for 2 days isnt really an option!! :D

The only reason for Fort Dodge saying this is that they have not done the tests to prove otherwise so it is not in the drug license.
There is no need to keep horses in after worming, unless you are protecting beetles and birds from the effects of the drug. Any worms/eggs passed afterwards are not viable, but if you think about it the horses were out grazing the day before with worm eggs dropping in every dung heap (if they had worms in the first place.....did you test?)
