What are you looking for in an in hand welsh cob?

Trot- lots of hock action and forelegs extended from the shoulder?

What about conformation wise? How do they like heads to be (small and pony like or more horsey?)

What I personally look for is a good extended movement. I'm not to bothered about having loads of knee action, as long as they put them out well and cover the ground, and straight. i don't like dishers or weavers.
I like a nice neat head and a good length of rein, plenty of flat bone and nice and level over the tail. And not too fat.

Do you look for anything different in mare compared to geldings or stallions?

Not majorly, stallions tend to be a bit stockier and cresty, and also more 'look at me' factor, but should be well behaved.
