Movin' up

So, I'm sure many of you read my little canter drama from a few weeks ago. At the lesson after that, lesson 7, I had a talk with my RI about it and he totally laughed it off - said you have to have one of those lessons once and awhile and not to worry about it, to my relief!

So lesson 7 went reasonably well, with me riding my favorite (Colorado, just my size!) and getting a good controlled canter that looked decent.

Lesson 8 was yesterday, on Nebraska (doesn't play well with other horses, but we get along fine!) who is a bit lazy but only need a few taps with my stick to get him going. We had a pretty good canter (really made me work, lifting him with my legs to keep him going) with pretty controlled transitions.

At the end of the lesson, I was promoted to the next class level! So yay, that canter disaster of a few weeks ago was just one of those bumps in the road.

I just have to get a little more secure in that canter seat, which I'm sure will come with more time up in a steady canter.

Congratulations on your promotion, it is good when you get moved up.

I'm sure your cantering will improve with time, I started cantering this week and I was abit shocked at how rubbish I was!

Yep they're all named after states so we can tell the difference between the school horses and the privately owned ones! Kind of a cute idea.
