i have loads but mostly its my mum, i admire her for what she has been through with horses and has just been there for me etc.

well. no body in my family rides, so im going to have to go for one who is famous

i think i'll have to say ellen whitaker, she rides with compassion for her horse, doesnt take it out on the horse if she loses and really seems to love her horses
wouldnt mind having her sponsorship with caldene either

Hannah Paul, she is a great rider and not much older than me. How id love to be in her position, with such great horses, plus she doesnt jump at the highest level so not as big jumps! .

Otherwise either Carl Hester. He is an excellent rider and also cares about his horses alot, doing all the NH and all.

Also mum, as she helps and supports me so much, and is so wise .

Probably Fleur. this will sound strange but i admire her for her courage, she gives me confidence. I watch her in the field and she's quiet with the other ponies, sort of shy, im alot like her in that way. As for a rider i admire most junior riders, the little ones on speedy 12.2s who sit and kick, if they come off, thats fine, most bounce right back on. They are fab to watch Natxxx

My little mate cameron.
Hes 10 years old and hes gone through so much with his pony Spyro.
Spy was a rescue, unbroken and a rig. Cam fell for him and Spyro loves him wholeheartedly now. He'd jump the moon for his daddy and nobody else can catch him.
Cams fallen off Spy a total of 21 times and hes had him four years and he just gets up and keeps riding. He inspired me to keep going with curly. If someone that young can persevere then so can i!
(spyro is now working beautifully in an outline and jumping higher than his withers, hacking for hours and winning in showing classes - not bad for a horse rescued from a shed as an absolute mess)

I also admire the lads from the racing yard. Watching them ride out on a morning is poetry in motion. Its so beautiful. they go slowly so its not 'blink and you'll miss them' and i sit with the assistant trainer (my YO) and just watch. the horses are in peak condition, the lads sit like status on them and each one knows his mount inside out and deeply respects them.

i cant even come up with enough words to discribe him.
One of the best captains in sports history, a great guy and a great roll model who really works hard to always say the right things to be a good roll model. To bad that arn't more like him in the world.
i suppose if there were he wouldn't be so specail though.

My breeder friend, Sylv - she does do some things I wouldn't choose to do with my own horses, but she treats her horses with so much understanding and integrity. She lets her horses be their own individual without compromising on their respect for her.

My trainer.

She has a passion and love for horses, but knows how to get respect from even the most unruley of horses. - In return they all get her respect, and all horses, even those of the boarders are treated as if they are her own. She's also very humorous, witty, and brings out confidance in me, I never thought I had. She basically doesn't give me time to be afraid. Its one exercise after another, and I'm doing GREAT.

The 10 year olds at the barn.

They're tanked off with by ponies, have had to deal with the colicing and death of a BELOVED miniature lesson horse, whom they all would ride/jump bareback. They've fallen, been stepped on, been bucked, thrown, lost at shows, been dissapointed - yet they always get back on, and at the end of the day, they ALWAYS have a smile on their face.

How many ADULTS do you know to cry about the passing of a best friend, and at the end of the night find comfort in sitting in a circle in his stall, recounting memories spent together, and eventually giggling from sheer delight at the memories they thought they had forgotten?

They are my true heroes.

has to be Mark Todd, he is absolutly magic on a horse. i was helping out at hartpury college and arriving early one morning mark was schooling his horse over some SJ and i had to stop and watch it was really breathtaking, he seems to actually become part of the horse.

A woman at my local riding club, who also has a welsh cob. They are a great partnership and fantastic to watch. If I could be half as good as her I'd be happy.

Then my RI, she's just an amazing horse woman.

I think my role model is my riding instructor she seems to know everything about riding, horse care, and horse behaviour. She's known around here as the rider that can get on almost any horse and make that horse work. If I can end up being even half the horsewoman she is, I'll consider myself lucky.

And Ian Millar. I've been watching him compete since I was little, and to see him competing now, at the age of 60, and still winning is awesome.

Role model - got to be my riding instructor, she has taught me so much and quite happily admits things that she does wrong to try and prevent anyone else making the same mistake.

coss- my old riding instructer actually had a saying "do as i say and not as i do" she was quite aware of how many things she did wrong and never wanted me to make any of those same mistakes

My major influences when i was younger were Ian Stark and Ginny Leng. You don't get riders like them these days.

But just now, i think my dressage trainer would be my role model. She's an incredible rider and one day i hope i might be as successful as her.
