What GCSE's and A levels etc do I need? Still havent decided what I want to do so I'm looking into every horsey job possibility first

You need biology a level then humans for 2 years but can train for horses while doing humans

What can I say, lee clark inspired me haha. Nar, just found it canny interesting. Biology is alright I spose. Humans though

hi -

i have 2 as levels at a d and e in business and english and im doing a national certificate in animals management (2 a levels)

can i still get into it??

if so how?

im really intrsted in doing this or behaviour

Isn't human physio a degree programme now?

You'd preferably have science A-levels plus maths I would think but then I got into the course for my job (Cardiology) with English, French, Music & German! I did have all the sciences + maths at O level (GCSE) though.

This is a very good article on what it's all about and everything and anything you could possibly want to know. It's alot to take in though so read slow and take breaks

Just to summaries what you wanted from your thread:

Just to really push the point that you will (if you want to be a equine physio -not therapist) you will need to go to uni and do a three year degree course- i've looked into this and it looks like a great course, but to get in is very competeitive- it's up there with law, medicine, vetinary etc- i went on a 3 day experience "exploring physio" at the university of nottingham, and although i have decided that physio is not for me, it was a great taster course for anyone interested in it.

As for grades/ subjects most ask for at least 3 B's but normally a ABB and sometimes AAB- depends on which uni you decide to go to subjects that are essential i think is mainly Biology, however I was told by the admissions officer at nottingham that they actually prefer sports science as it focuses more about the body and each parts functions, but they cannot specify this as not all colleges/sixth forms/schools run this course.

Along with grades, you really need to have work experience shadowing/following a physio, preferably at least 1 week and if you have a particular interest - e.g muscular skeletal, try and find a physio wgho specialises in that. Obviously as you will be battleing against lots of people for your place you also need your personal statement to stand out- playing sports at high level, sommunity service/volunterering etc- any of this will enhance your chances of gaining a place

Also you must be prepared to work as a human physio just in case you don't get acceptd to study at postgrad level

Tuscan Dream, I would contact universities seperately and find out if you could do it- there is a thing called an access course- cant remeber the code, but i'm sure it will be on the ucas website. many uni's do it and you can do that and in one year it will bring you up to a level standard in the subject you need- e.g biology -hope this helps
