I am - but i don't have a horse, so do I count? I ride 2/3 times per week, at Loughton Manor and at Bury Farm (which is about 15 miles from MK).

There are some super whizzy ponies at Loughton! I usually ride on a Monday lunchtime, as it is about five minutes away from my office, on Fudge (the horse world's Victor Meldrew) or Sparkle.

Anyone know if Scooby's still about/being ridden? He was getting on a bit when i rode him! I think the grey one i rode could be called Barney?

I'm in MK (and am Flony_Pony's sharer ). I have a lesson at Loughton on Monday nights with John - had lessons there from 1987-2000 and then started back in 2006, I was a weekend helper as a kid too! We do have good bridleways in MK- just as well as we like to canter-but as they run past houses & gardens you do need a kid/lawnmower proof horse!!
Barnie is still there - he was one of my favs as a kid. I remember Scooby but I don't believe he is there anymore (don't see many of the tiddlers now I'm all grown up ).
I ride Splodge, Sparky & Wish a lot - or the bigger ponies like Splash. Fudge is a grumpy boy - and he has always been that way. When I was a helper he would regularly corner you in the stable! My all time favs were Piquet (sadly no longer with us) and Harvey (retired) - I have fond memories of whizzing around the cross country course, no fear in those days!!

Hiya
Are we doing that MK ride at some point when the weather gets nice..and was it nice today! I even turned Jet boy out without his rug 3night - he COULDN'T believe it, he was soooooooo happy (i know i know it's going to be -2 or something eeek...he's not clipped tho..maybe he'll lose a bit of podge running around!)
NB - I saw Loughton were advertising for an instructor..if only I had my BHS Stages (taking Stage 1 exam in March). What's it like there, do they take freelance teaching/those looking to get teaching hours for PTT?

wow such an old post
Loughton is good if you ride there but not to work! Also good for riding holidays - if your a kid!
Katie - i quite liked fudge and if your brave enough he goes soppy if you scratch the top of his tail - safest through the grill on his door
