show results/rant *pics*

well here where my places I had entered:

8:00 AM

2008-Yearlings
4 and over years mares
Reg or part bred Quarter Horses Geldings
reg or part bred Quarter Horse mares
Intermediate(15-18 year old handler) Showmanship (following a pattern inhand with your horse)
Maiden Horse Western Pleasure
Quarter Horse Western Pleasure

so my first class was cancelled (yearlings) so my yealring was against 3 year old horses (most almost-fully matured)..he placed 3rd in the class, at his first outing.

then he had the reg/part bred Qh geldings and didn't place as he was not enjoying the judge (and after this rant so will you so I don't blame him)

and pics of him in his two halter classes:

and my favourite pic along with an example of what he was up against

Then my older mares classes

4 yrs and older mares-she didn't place and judge asks me where I live as my mare eyes looked really bad and kinda old looking so she got to many bug bites..I then went to tell her she was a golden oldie who just went threw a whole night of dealing with thunder and lightning with a yearling as a companion..lol.

then my other halter class was exactly the same..

Intermediate showmanship:

I am pro at showmanship when I am against people at the nationals I usually place right beside then at either 1-3rd.. I got a 5th out of 7 horses..

by this time I was getting the feeling the judge didn't understand/or like Qh's..

why? you say?

well in my halter classes an emaciated bald(her butt was actually caved in and her spine was visible) morgan won the mare classes..

then came my riding..

My mare was amazing we were the second slowest (western pleasure is about slow collective gaits with little effort look in the rider making the rider and horse look like a pleasure full ride)

with 20+ people in the class I was cut off 3 times once by 3 riders galloping into me and I was forced to break gait..judge said nothing. Then another riders horse decided to buck and kick my mare (we were a horse length away)..judge said nothing bucking horse actually placed..then the other was a rider who abrubtly turned her horse into me and we were forced to stop again..judge said nothing.

Other rider whom won the classes never walked even when the gait was asked by the judge he still jogged/trotted..

no pictures as my photographer/dad was fuming at how retarded this judge was, and the indoor arena was too dark and my dad didn't want to turn the flash on and scare the horses.

So we are pretty sure the judge was bribed or the judge didn't know about the discilpines she was judging..(more leaning on the bribbing)

I was so proud of both my babies..my dad was so proud at me for not screaming at the inconsiderate riders or the idiot judge..and just keeping a smile on and staying cool. In all I loved the experience.

some pictures of the babies ready to head off to home:

That sucks, Tuff_up. Your yearling looks fantastic, so I hope you know that despite the stupid judge. I had the same issue at the last show I went to; the horse that placed first in western pleasure didn't even lope with all the other horses, she loped after everyone else was done. And the judge didn't ask us to show a jog in halter, for all she knew one of the horses could have been dead lame.

Hope it didn't get you down too much. Maybe keep an eye out and not show with that judge again?

yeah, it didn't knock me down at all what the judge didn't or did not say. I just wish she would have written down, or walked up and told me why I never placed in a single class.. I mean I understand my mare is more performance then halterand unhideable..and that the other had unhidable scars..but still.

thanks for the complement though.

Ah such is life hey, some judges just don't know what they are looking at, I know a judge can only judge what they see but horses crashing into you is not good, I got DQ'd once because my horse gallopped off, it was only after a horse overtaking me kicked my foot, which caused my spur to jam him in the ribs but who cares about that little detail!

Your guys looked great, really well turned out, pat yourself and them and know you did what you could, the fact that the judge didn't agree with you doesn't make him right
