Fitting a girth

I know this sounds daft but how do I choose the correct size?

When choosing the size is that up to and including the buckle?

Any help appreciated.

A got a girth with my first pony but its a bit big.

girths are measured as the entire length so that includes the buckles too. girths go up in size by 2 inches and generally going down a size means you can go down a hole either side on your girth straps

Measure from a certain hole on you're girth straps e.g 3 and then measure round pony to the same place on the other side (so hole 3 on that side). You can then get a rough measurement. Being on hole 3 means you have space if your horse get fatter etc. Vez x
