The thing with lameness it it has thousands of causes! Without knowing the cause you cannot remedy it quickly.

Sometimes lamness just needs time and patience to heal things, you have to wait and be patient. Getting her back into work too soon will only make it worse.

Have you got the vet in to have a look, how long has she been lame?

Hi Anja, at 20 a lameness could be anything...Did you get a vet out to determine why.?? Does the horse go lame often, is the horses movement stiff normally, especially before warming up.?
It could be all manner of problems like lamintis, Arthritis or even just a stone bruise. I personally would have got a proffessionals opinion given the age of the horse because how quickly you can return to working the horse will depend on the cause of the lameness, .

Cheers! Hope the pony is as fit as a mallee bull very soon.
